Officially, as of today, 21st of January, Apostolos Mantzios has assumed his duties as the new head coach of the Men's National Team. Mr. Mantzios signed his contract at noon at the Federation's offices during a meeting with the president of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), George Koumas.
Mr. Koumas formally welcomed him to the National Team, wished him success in his role, and assured him that the Federation would support him in any way needed.
Mr. Mantzios has been in Cyprus since last week and has already attended four matches of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. Specifically, he watched the games Apollon – Karmiotissa, Ethnikos – AEL, Omonia Nicosia – Aris, and AEK – APOEL.
In the coming period, he will observe all teams to form a personal opinion about all players.
At the same time, he has started meetings with his staff to brief them on his plan and philosophy and is scheduling meetings with players, the medical team, and the National Team’s support staff.
Mr. Mantzios' team includes Giotis Engomitis and Giorgos Chorianopoulos (assistant coaches), goalkeeper coach Nikos Konstantinidis, fitness coaches Panikos Sakkis and Sotiris Vino, and analyst Giorgos Christodoulou.
