Mr. Mantzios emphasized that Cypriot players have great potential, spoke about his expectations from them, and highlighted the importance of support from the fans.

"It is a great honor and responsibility to take on the role of head coach of Cyprus' National Team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the President and the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Football Association for their trust.

I have watched several matches from the Cypriot league and the National Team. Cypriot internationals possess talent and ability.

It must be clear that it is the highest honor for any footballer to serve the National Team, and they must be ready to make sacrifices and give their utmost effort.

We want the fans by our side, supporting us in every match, but it is also up to us, through the right mindset and our performances, to bring them closer to us. The fans know how to recognize and appreciate effort.

Preparations and planning have already begun for the March matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, together with the other members of the coaching staff and the Federation.

We are in a tough group, but at this level, there is no such thing as an easy match. We have a lot of work ahead to be ready for our games.

There is belief among everyone close to the team—players, the Federation, and the coaching staff—in the new challenge ahead of us."
