The deadline for the submission of candidacies for the Presidency of the Cyprus Football Association for the football seasons 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 expired on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
The only candidacy submitted ahead of the Extraordinary General Electoral Assembly scheduled for June 24, 2025—and supported by 12 members of the General Assembly—is that of the former Deputy President, Mr. Harris Loizides.
As a result, the upcoming General Assembly of the Association will proclaim Mr. Loizides as President of the CFA for a two-year term covering the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 football seasons.
Mr. Loizides has served as Deputy President of the CFA since 2018. He has been involved in the governance of the Association since 2005 as a member of the Board of Directors and was elected First Vice President in 2007, simultaneously taking on the role of Chairman of the National Teams Committee.
Harris Loizides has represented the CFA in numerous UEFA and FIFA meetings and Congresses.
He has also been a longstanding member of UEFA’s Social and Environmental Sustainability Committee, which supports the European Association’s strategy to promote football in a socially responsible and environmentally respectful manner.
The Extraordinary General Electoral Assembly will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 12:00 noon at the Hilton Nicosia Hotel. Representatives from UEFA and FIFA have been invited and will attend to observe the proceedings.
